In 2016, Germany (X tonnes), distantly followed by France (X tonnes), Belgium (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes), Czech Republic (X tonnes), and the U.S. (X tonnes) were the key importers of printed matter, together committing X% of total imports. The following importers - China (X tonnes), Poland (X tonnes), the Netherlands (X tonnes), Switzerland (X tonnes), Austria (X tonnes), and Spain (X tonnes) together made up X% of total imports.
Imports into Germany decreased at an average annual rate of -X% from 2007 to 2016. At the same time, Austria (+X%), and Switzerland (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Spain, France, Belgium, Italy, Poland, and China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, the U.S. ($X), France ($X) and Germany ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, together comprising X% of global imports.Switzerland, Czech Republic, Austria, the Netherlands, China, Italy, Belgium, Spain and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
Austria (+X% per year) had the highest growth rate of printed matter imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last X year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Printed Matter Import Prices By Country
In 2016, the average import price for printed matter amounted to $X per tonne, flattening at the previous year level. In general, printed matter import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, when import increased by X% year-to-year. Global printed matter import peaked of $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.
Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was the U.S. ($X per tonne), while Poland ($X per tonne) was among the lowest.
