By contrast, the Czech Republic (-6.6%), Italy (-9.6%), Malaysia (-9.9%), India (-10.4%), Switzerland (-12.1%), the UK (-18.4%) and France (-21.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+9.3 p.p.), Turkey (+6.9 p.p.), Poland (+2.5 p.p.), the Netherlands (+2.2 p.p.) and Greece (+2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while the UK and France saw its share reduced by -3.7% and -5.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($130M), China ($103M) and Switzerland ($67M) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 43% share of global exports. Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic, the UK, France, Turkey, India, Malaysia and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Turkey, with a CAGR of +10.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices By Country

In 2022, the average printing components export price amounted to $15,686 per ton, rising by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade.
