Imports into Norway
After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of granules, chippings and powder of marble increased by 45% to X tons in 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, marble granules and powder imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest marble granules and powder supplier to Norway, with a 56% share of total imports. Moreover, marble granules and powder imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Sweden (X tons), twofold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.
