As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, marble granules and powder exports fell to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 460% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Japan (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) were the main destinations of marble granules and powder exports from China, together accounting for 68% of total exports. Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan (Chinese), the Philippines, Kenya, Mongolia and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Kenya (with a CAGR of +325.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Hong Kong SAR ($X), Kenya ($X) and Japan ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for marble granules and powder exported from China worldwide, together comprising 63% of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Kenya, with a CAGR of +350.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average marble granules and powder export price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 133% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw strong growth. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kenya ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Mongolia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+34.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Granules, Chippings And Powder Of Marble
Imports into China
After seven years of growth, supplies from abroad of granules, chippings and powder of marble decreased by -76.5% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 621%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, marble granules and powder imports fell sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 351% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
Imports by Country
Vietnam (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Namibia (X tons) were the main suppliers of marble granules and powder imports to China, together accounting for 76% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Russia (with a CAGR of +346.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Italy ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Namibia ($X) appeared to be the largest marble granules and powder suppliers to China, with a combined 71% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Russia, France, Spain and Turkey, which together accounted for a further 21%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Russia, with a CAGR of +306.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average marble granules and powder import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a noticeable downturn. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
