In 2021, Bangladesh (X tons), distantly followed by Hong Kong SAR (X tons), Iraq (X tons), China (X tons), Kazakhstan (X tons), South Korea (X tons), Israel (X tons) and Qatar (X tons) represented the major importers of granules, chippings and powder of marble, together achieving 80% of total imports.
Imports into Bangladesh increased at an average annual rate of +47.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Hong Kong SAR (+86.1%), South Korea (+64.1%), China (+35.7%), Israel (+25.5%), Iraq (+25.1%), Kazakhstan (+18.4%) and Qatar (+10.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hong Kong SAR emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +86.1% from 2012-2021. While the share of Bangladesh (+23 p.p.), Hong Kong SAR (+9.8 p.p.), South Korea (+7.6 p.p.), China (+7.4 p.p.), Iraq (+5.8 p.p.), Israel (+4.3 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (+3.5 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Bangladesh ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported granules, chippings and powder of marble in Asia, comprising 28% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Korea ($X), with an 8.4% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with an 8.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Bangladesh totaled +56.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: South Korea (+54.4% per year) and China (+30.2% per year).

The import price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable decline. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Iraq ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bangladesh (+6.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
