In 2022, the average fruit, edible; durians, fresh export price amounted to $1,377 per ton, which is down by -24.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 43% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $2,773 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($1,915 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lao People's Democratic Republic ($1,027 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (-3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average fruit, edible; durians, fresh import price stood at $10,005 per ton in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 360% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $10,007 per ton in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Thailand.

For the fourth year in a row, Vietnam recorded growth in overseas shipments of fruit, edible; durians, freshes, which increased by 26% to 727 tons in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +49.2% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, fruit, edible; durians, fresh exports shrank modestly to $1M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period.
