In 2015, the country with the largest volume of the currant and gooseberry output was Russia (390 thousand tonnes), accounting for 58% of global production. Moreover, currant and gooseberry output in Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the world's second largest producer, Poland (153 thousand tonnes), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Ukraine with a share of 4%.
