Blueberry And Cranberry Market Size in Vietnam
In 2020, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Vietnamese blueberry and cranberry market, when its value decreased by -X% to $X. Overall, consumption, however, recorded a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of X% year-to-year. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

Exports from Vietnam
In 2020, the amount of blueberries and cranberries exported from Vietnam contracted dramatically to X kg, with a decrease of -X% against 2019 figures. In general, exports saw a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports reached the maximum at X kg in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, blueberry and cranberry exports shrank to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports hit record highs at $X in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Malaysia (X kg) was the main destination for blueberry and cranberry exports from Vietnam, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, blueberry and cranberry exports to Malaysia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Slovenia (X kg), fivefold.
From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Malaysia was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Slovenia (-X% per year) and Sri Lanka (X% per year).
In value terms, Malaysia ($X), Slovenia ($X) and Sri Lanka ($X) were the largest markets for blueberry and cranberry exported from Vietnam worldwide.
Sri Lanka recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
Export Prices by Country
In 2020, the average blueberry and cranberry export price amounted to $X per tonne, increasing by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price enjoyed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, average export prices reached the maximum in 2020 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovenia, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Vietnam
In 2020, after two years of growth, there was decline in supplies from abroad of blueberries and cranberries, when their volume decreased by -X% to X tonnes. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tonnes, and then fell modestly in the following year.
In value terms, blueberry and cranberry imports shrank to $X in 2020. Overall, imports, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then declined in the following year.
Imports by Country
New Zealand (X tonnes) and the U.S. (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of blueberry and cranberry imports to Vietnam.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the U.S. (+X% per year).
In value terms, New Zealand ($X) and the U.S. ($X) constituted the largest blueberry and cranberry suppliers to Vietnam.
The U.S. (+X% per year) saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review.
Import Prices by Country
The average blueberry and cranberry import price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, falling by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by X% y-o-y. The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was the U.S. ($X per tonne), while the price for New Zealand amounted to $X per tonne.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by New Zealand.
