The average mandarins import price stood at $666 per ton in May 2023, growing by 15% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 50% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $846 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to May 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Egypt ($842 per ton) and Turkey ($728 per ton), while the price for China ($616 per ton) and Pakistan ($666 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
