Mandarins Price in Slovakia (CIF) - 2023

In July 2023, the average mandarins import price amounted to $1,557 per ton, falling by -24.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a notable expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, mandarins import price decreased by -24.2% against June 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 24% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $2,053 per ton in June 2023, and then plummeted in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($2,123 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,129 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+15.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Mandarins Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2022

The average mandarins export price stood at $1,047 per ton in 2022, remaining constant against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2017 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the last five years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mandarins export price decreased by -18.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 37%. The export price peaked at $1,279 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($1,600 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($1,026 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Mandarins Imports in Slovakia

Mandarins imports into Slovakia shrank dramatically to 16K tons in 2022, waning by -25.2% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 21K tons, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, mandarins imports dropped rapidly to $20M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 25% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $25M, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
