The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

The Czech Republic (X tonnes), Hungary (X tonnes) and Germany (X tonnes) were the main destinations of grapefruit exports from Slovakia, with a combined X% share of total exports. Malta and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Malta (+X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the largest markets for grapefruit exported from Slovakia were the Czech Republic ($X), Hungary ($X) and Germany ($X), together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Malta and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further X, with a CAGR of +X%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.
Export Prices by Country
The average grapefruit export price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per tonne. From 2018 to 2021, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Malta ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (-X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tonnes in 2020, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, grapefruit imports reduced to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then fell in the following year.

Germany (X tonnes), Turkey (X tonnes) and the Netherlands (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of grapefruit imports to Slovakia, with a combined X% share of total imports.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per tonne), while the price for Turkey ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
