Mandarins Price in Romania (CIF) - 2023

The average mandarins import price stood at $1,339 per ton in July 2023, declining by -11.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 30% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,517 per ton, and then fell in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,923 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,061 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average mandarins export price amounted to $951 per ton, falling by -12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 28%. The export price peaked at $2,074 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Turkey.

From 2017 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Turkey amounted to +10.8% per year.

In 2022, imports of fruit, edible into Romania dropped remarkably to 25K tons, declining by -16.2% on the year before. Over the period under review, imports saw a perceptible slump.
