Date Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average date import price stood at $2,813 per ton in June 2023, falling by -3.9% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 24% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,196 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Israel ($8,870 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($1,409 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In June 2023, the average date export price amounted to $3,511 per ton, dropping by -2.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 29% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,500 per ton. From December 2022 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($8,682 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($1,325 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Date Imports in Germany
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of dates decreased by -13.9% to 26K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year.
In value terms, date imports declined sharply to $68M in 2022. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 23%.

Date Exports in Germany
For the third consecutive year, Germany recorded decline in shipments abroad of dates, which decreased by -28.8% to 6.5K tons in 2022. In general, exports saw a abrupt descent. The smallest decline of -0.1% was in 2020.
In value terms, date exports declined rapidly to $25M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 8.6% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $40M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
