Exports from Germany
Avocado exports from Germany soared to X tonnes in 2020, increasing by X% against 2019. In general, exports enjoyed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, avocado exports expanded markedly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Austria (X tonnes), Finland (X tonnes) and Sweden (X tonnes) were the main destinations of avocado exports from Germany, with a combined X% share of total exports.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Sweden (+X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Austria ($X), Finland ($X) and Sweden ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for avocado exported from Germany worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Sweden, with a CAGR of +X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2020, the average avocado export price amounted to $X per tonne, waning by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated pronounced growth from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, avocado export price increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 an increase of X% y-o-y. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2019, and then fell slightly in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2020, the countries with the highest prices were Austria ($X per tonne) and Switzerland ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per tonne) and Slovakia ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Germany
Avocado imports into Germany surged to X tonnes in 2020, jumping by X% on the year before. In general, imports showed buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Imports peaked in 2020 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, avocado imports reached $X in 2020. Overall, imports recorded a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2020, the Netherlands (X tonnes) constituted the largest avocado supplier to Germany, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, avocado imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tonnes), eightfold.
From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume from the Netherlands amounted to +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (+X% per year) and Morocco (+X% per year).
