Uncoated Kraft Liner Market Size in Thailand

Over the period under review, exports hit record highs at X tonnes in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, uncoated kraft liner exports skyrocketed to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a deep reduction. Exports peaked at $X in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

China (X tonnes) was the main destination for uncoated kraft liner exports from Thailand, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, uncoated kraft liner exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Egypt (X tonnes), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Viet Nam (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to China amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Egypt (-X% per year) and Viet Nam (+X% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for uncoated kraft liner exported from Thailand were China ($X), Viet Nam ($X) and Egypt ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, Viet Nam recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average uncoated kraft liner export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, with a decrease of -X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, average export prices attained the maximum at $X per tonne in 2019, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Viet Nam ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to China ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Viet Nam, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, overseas purchases of uncoated kraft liner decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the third consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports saw a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, uncoated kraft liner imports plummeted to $X in 2020. Overall, imports saw a mild contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2020, the U.S. (X tonnes) constituted the largest uncoated kraft liner supplier to Thailand, accounting for a X% share of total imports.
