The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2019, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, toy exports rose sharply to $X in 2020. In general, total exports indicated a pronounced increase from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, exports increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Exports peaked in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

France (X tonnes), Portugal (X tonnes) and Italy (X tonnes) were the main destinations of toy exports from Spain, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Germany, the UK, Poland, the U.S., Belgium, the Netherlands and Mexico, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Poland, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, France ($X), Portugal ($X) and Germany ($X) were the largest markets for toy exported from Spain worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per tonne), while the price for China ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
