Turkey Meat Price in Norway (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average turkey meat import price amounted to $9,637 per ton, picking up by 18% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, turkey meat import price increased by +84.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 44%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $10,161 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($11,462 per ton), while the price for Brazil ($4,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Turkey Meat Price in Norway (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average turkey meat export price amounted to $2,225 per ton, waning by -28.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by 51% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $8,838 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Sweden.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to +3.9% per year.

Turkey Meat Imports in Norway

In 2022, the amount of turkey meat imported into Norway dropped to 12 tons, waning by -6.3% compared with 2021. Overall, imports recorded a dramatic curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 8.8%.

In value terms, turkey meat imports expanded remarkably to $111K in 2022. In general, imports recorded a perceptible setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 19% against the previous year.

For the fourth consecutive year, Norway recorded growth in overseas shipments of turkey meat, which increased by 12% to 21 tons in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +20.0% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +72.8% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 30%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In value terms, turkey meat exports declined dramatically to $46K in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated noticeable growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -25.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 52%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $62K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
