Turkey Meat Market Size in Norway

In value terms, turkey meat exports totaled $X in 2018. Over the period under review, turkey meat exports, however, continue to indicate a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. In that year, turkey meat exports attained their peak of $X. From 2014 to 2018, the growth of turkey meat exports failed to regain its momentum.

Exports by Country

Denmark (X tonnes) was the main destination for turkey meat exports from Norway, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, turkey meat exports to Denmark exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Sweden (X kg), more than tenfold.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Denmark was relatively modest.

In value terms, Denmark ($X) remains the key foreign market for turkey meat exports from Norway, comprising X% of total turkey meat exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Sweden ($X), with a X% share of total exports.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Denmark stood at $X per tonne.

Overall, turkey meat imports, however, continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. In that year, turkey meat imports reached their peak of X tonnes. From 2017 to 2018, the growth of turkey meat imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, turkey meat imports totaled $X in 2018. Overall, turkey meat imports, however, continue to indicate remarkable growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of X% y-o-y. In that year, turkey meat imports reached their peak of $X. From 2017 to 2018, the growth of turkey meat imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

The U.S. (X tonnes), Sweden (X tonnes) and Denmark (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of turkey meat imports to Norway, with a combined X% share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the U.S., while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Denmark ($X), Germany ($X) and Sweden ($X) appeared to be the largest turkey meat suppliers to Norway, with a combined X% share of total imports. The U.S., France, the Netherlands and Brazil lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X the main suppliers, the U.S. recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to imports, over the last eleven-year period, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the turkey meat import price, however, continues to indicate mild growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average import price increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the average import prices for turkey meat attained their maximum at $X per tonne in 2017, and then declined slightly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was France ($X per tonne), while the price for the U.S. ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
