Pyrethrum and Peppermint Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average pyrethrum and peppermint export price amounted to $5,737 per ton, with a decrease of -4.8% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 26% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $6,918 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Romania ($6,426 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($3,284 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pyrethrum and Peppermint Price in Poland (CIF) - 2022
The average pyrethrum and peppermint import price stood at $4,239 per ton in 2022, reducing by -1.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 17%. The import price peaked at $4,305 per ton in 2021, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($7,416 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($2,136 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pyrethrum and Peppermint Exports in Poland
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was growth in overseas shipments of pyrethrum and peppermint, when their volume increased by 2% to 19K tons. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, pyrethrum and peppermint exports expanded notably to $114M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +9.1% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 11% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
