In August 2023, the average import price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds amounted to $4,837 per ton, with a decrease of -6.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 5.2% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $5,170 per ton in July 2023, and then reduced in the following month.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($5,962 per ton), while the price for the United States totaled $4,756 per ton.

From January 2023 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+0.8%).

In August 2023, the average export price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds amounted to $6,933 per ton, with an increase of 2% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 21% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $8,627 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Japan ($11,177 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($5,449 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2023 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bahrain (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
