In December 2023, the average import price for melons (including watermelons) and papaws (papayas); freshes amounted to $121 per ton, which is down by -2.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 333% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $977 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to December 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Peru.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Brazil amounted to +1.4% per month.

Over the period under review, the export price showed a slight downturn.
