In general, the import price posted resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 67% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3,594 per ton in October 2023; however, from November 2023 to December 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($3,527 per ton), while the price for Australia stood at $3,524 per ton.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by New Zealand (+11.2%).

As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,781 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turks and Caicos Islands ($6,494 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saint Lucia ($1,284 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turks and Caicos Islands (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
