In 2022, the average import price for iron ores and concentrates, non-agglomerated amounted to $133 per ton, waning by -17.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 51%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $161 per ton, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were South Africa ($146 per ton) and Australia ($143 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($118 per ton) and Turkey ($133 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for North Macedonia.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Romania amounted to +30.0% per year.
