In 2022, the average import price for citrus fruits not elsewhere classified amounted to $703 per ton, falling by -4.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a mild contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 161% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $2,111 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($1,312 per ton), while the price for South Africa ($681 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+31.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,924 per ton), while the average price for exports to Niger stood at $170 per ton.

From 2015 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Niger (-42.8%).

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of citrus fruits not elsewhere classified decreased by -50.3% to 600 tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 1,691%.

In value terms, citrus fruits not elsewhere classified imports fell markedly to $422K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 1,787% against the previous year.
