The average persimmon import price stood at $2,713 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -9.5% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, persimmon import price increased by +30.8% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 45% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,998 per ton, and then fell in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($6,391 per ton), while the price for China ($1,621 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average persimmon export price amounted to $2,921 per ton, waning by -8.4% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, persimmon export price increased by +77.8% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 30% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $3,188 per ton in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+17.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of persimmons imported into Singapore amounted to 2.4K tons, remaining relatively unchanged against 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 44%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 3.2K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
