Malaysia (X tonnes) was the main destination for strawberry exports from Singapore, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, strawberry exports to Malaysia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Brunei Darussalam (X kg), sixfold. Cambodia (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Malaysia stood at -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Brunei Darussalam (-X% per year) and Cambodia (-X% per year).
In value terms, Malaysia ($X) remains the key foreign market for strawberry exports from Singapore, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Brunei Darussalam ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Cambodia, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Malaysia amounted to -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Brunei Darussalam (-X% per year) and Cambodia (-X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average strawberry export price amounted to $X per tonne, falling by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Imports into Singapore
After two years of growth, purchases abroad of strawberries decreased by -X% to X tonnes in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a slight reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tonnes. From 2016 to 2021, the growth imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, strawberry imports declined remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then dropped notably in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2021, South Korea (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of strawberry to Singapore, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, strawberry imports from South Korea exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Australia (X tonnes), twofold. The United States (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

In 2021, the average strawberry import price amounted to $X per tonne, which is down by -X% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per tonne, and then reduced in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per tonne), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by New Zealand (+X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
