Exports in the EU
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in overseas shipments of strawberries, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. Overall, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
In value terms, strawberry exports reduced to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.
Exports by Country
Spain represented the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to X% of total exports. Greece (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by the Netherlands (X%), Belgium (X%) and Poland (X%). The following exporters - Italy (X tons) and France (X tons) - each amounted to a X% share of total exports.
Spain experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of strawberries. At the same time, Greece (X%) and Poland (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Greece emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. The Netherlands experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports by Country
In 2022, Germany (X tons), distantly followed by France (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Italy (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the largest importers of strawberries, together committing X% of total imports. Romania (X tons), Portugal (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
