Orange Price in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2023

The average orange import price stood at $1,248 per ton in August 2023, surging by 7.1% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 9.8% m-o-m. The import price peaked in August 2023.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,695 per ton), while the price for France ($1,025 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Orange Price in the Czech Republic (FOB) - 2023

The average orange export price stood at $1,752 per ton in August 2023, picking up by 11% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a tangible increase from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, orange export price increased by +80.3% against November 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 25% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in August 2023.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($1,754 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany amounted to $1,736 per ton.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Orange Imports in the Czech Republic

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of oranges, when their volume decreased by -9.8% to 49K tons. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 3.7% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 54K tons, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, orange imports contracted sharply to $37M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 25% against the previous year.

Orange Exports in the Czech Republic

In 2022, shipments abroad of oranges decreased by -26.7% to 2.3K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports showed a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 2.4% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 3.4K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, orange exports dropped notably to $2.1M in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 21%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $3.3M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
