Orange Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average orange import price amounted to $1,136 per ton, with an increase of 3.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 22% month-to-month. The import price peaked in August 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($2,244 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($933 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Orange Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average orange export price amounted to $865 per ton, waning by -3.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, orange export price increased by +41.4% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 35%. The export price peaked at $897 per ton in 2021, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($2,053 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($667 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+12.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Orange Imports in Croatia
In 2022, approx. 32K tons of oranges were imported into Croatia; picking up by 7.6% against 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Orange Exports in Croatia
In 2022, shipments abroad of oranges decreased by -18.4% to 2.9K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 101% against the previous year.
