Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, citrus fruit exports soared to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at $X in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tonnes), Serbia (X tonnes) and Slovenia (X tonnes) were the main destinations of citrus fruit exports from Croatia, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Italy, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Germany (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovenia, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of citrus fruits decreased by -X% to X tonnes in 2020. Overall, imports continue to indicate a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2019, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

In value terms, citrus fruit imports declined sharply to $X in 2020. In general, imports saw a mild decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2020, the growth imports failed to regain the momentum.

Spain (X tonnes), Greece (X tonnes) and Slovenia (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of citrus fruit imports to Croatia, with a combined X% share of total imports.
