Mandarins Price in Finland (CIF) - 2023

In July 2023, the average mandarins import price amounted to $1,811 per ton, with a decrease of -14.2% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated notable growth from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.3% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, mandarins import price decreased by -14.2% against June 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 53% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,111 per ton in June 2023, and then dropped in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,840 per ton), while the price for Spain stood at $1,176 per ton.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Mandarins Price in Finland (FOB) - 2022

The average mandarins export price stood at $2,062 per ton in 2022, waning by -13.6% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated buoyant growth from 2017 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last five-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mandarins export price increased by +32.4% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 45% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,386 per ton, and then fell in the following year.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Estonia.

From 2017 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the Netherlands amounted to +334.7% per year.

Mandarins Imports in Finland

For the fourth year in a row, Finland recorded growth in overseas purchases of fruit, edible, which increased by 0.4% to 13K tons in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +49.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 38%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, mandarins imports declined slightly to $19M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +53.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 47% against the previous year.
