Mandarin and Clementine Price in the Dominican Republic (CIF) - 2023

The average mandarin and clementine import price stood at $2,711 per ton in March 2023, increasing by 14% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 19% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $3,793 per ton in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to March 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.

From March 2022 to March 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Peru amounted to +2.1% per month.

Mandarin and Clementine Price in the Dominican Republic (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average mandarin and clementine export price amounted to $501 per ton, reducing by -57.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 93%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,249 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turks and Caicos Islands ($1,736 per ton), while the average price for exports to British Virgin Islands ($300 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Aruba (+26.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Mandarin and Clementine Imports in the Dominican Republic

Mandarin and clementine imports into the Dominican Republic expanded sharply to 1.6K tons in 2022, with an increase of 6.9% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 48%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, mandarin and clementine imports skyrocketed to $4.1M in 2022. In general, imports recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 55% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In 2022, overseas shipments of tangerines, mandarins, clementines, satsumas increased by 285% to 5.7 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt setback.

In value terms, mandarin and clementine exports surged to $2.8K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a precipitous setback.
