Mandarin and Clementine Price in China (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average mandarin and clementine export price amounted to $1,162 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a mild reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 6.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,348 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Thailand ($1,307 per ton) and Indonesia ($1,279 per ton), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($1,009 per ton) and Vietnam ($1,086 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kyrgyzstan (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average mandarin and clementine import price amounted to $1,767 per ton, standing approx. at the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 59%. The import price peaked at $1,862 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, mandarin and clementine exports fell sharply to $761M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 38% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $1.2B.
