Mandarin and Clementine Price in Australia (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average mandarin and clementine export price amounted to $1,589 per ton, reducing by -9.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,759 per ton in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($2,169 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($1,118 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average mandarin and clementine import price amounted to $3,661 per ton, picking up by 31% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mandarin and clementine import price increased by +82.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 31% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,433 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($1,257 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+8.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Mandarin and clementine exports from Australia fell to 74K tons in 2022, which is down by -6.9% on the previous year's figure. In general, exports recorded a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 30% against the previous year.

In value terms, mandarin and clementine exports dropped significantly to $118M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 37% against the previous year.
