In August 2023, the average lemon and lime export price amounted to $1,884 per ton, surging by 9.4% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 27% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,272 per ton. From May 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,336 per ton), while the average price for exports to Greece ($1,514 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average lemon and lime import price stood at $1,272 per ton in August 2023, growing by 7.2% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 37% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,659 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Mexico ($1,781 per ton), while the price for Argentina ($1,067 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
