Grapefruit Price in Chile (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average grapefruit export price amounted to $873 per ton, shrinking by -12.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $993 per ton, and then shrank in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Costa Rica ($1,218 per ton) and Ecuador ($1,006 per ton), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($849 per ton) and Uruguay ($920 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Costa Rica (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
