Cabbage Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
The average cabbage export price stood at $725 per ton in July 2023, increasing by 43% against the previous month. Overall, the export price enjoyed slight growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 179% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in July 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($1,070 per ton), while the average price for exports to Syrian Arab Republic ($127 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cabbage Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2022
The average cabbage import price stood at $98 per ton in 2022, falling by -66.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 123% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $448 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Iran.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Iran amounted to -8.8% per year.
Cabbage Exports in Turkey
In 2022, approx. 16K tons of cabbage and other brassicas were exported from Turkey; increasing by 10% on 2021 figures.
