Global fig consumption amounted to X thousand tonnes in 2015, descending by -X% against the previous year level. Overall, the global fig consumption indicated a moderate growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, remained consistant, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total consumption volume increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009, when the output figure increased by +X% from the previous year level. In that year, the global fig consumption attained its maximum volume of X thousand tonnes. From 2010 to 2015, the total fig consumption growth failed to regain its strength.

Global Figs Consumption
In 2015, the countries with the highest consumption were Turkey (X thousand tonnes), Egypt (X thousand tonnes), Morocco (X thousand tonnes), together making up X% of total consumption. They were followed by Algeria with a X% of global consumption share and Iran with a X% share.
From 2007 to 2015, the most notable growth rates of fig consumption among the main consuming countries was attained by Morocco (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced mixed trends in the consumption figures.
The highest levels of fig per capita consumption was registered in Morocco (X kg/year), followed by Algeria (X kg/year), Turkey (X kg/year), Egypt (X kg/year) and Iran (X kg/year), while the average per capita consumption of fig was estimated at X kg/year in 2015.
In Morocco, per capita fig consumption has grown noticably (+X% per year) in recent years. In 2015, Morocco per capita consumption reached X kg/year as compared with X kg/year in 2007.
