The countries with the highest volumes of cashew nut production in 2021 were India (X tonnes), Cote d'Ivoire (X tonnes) and Vietnam (X tonnes), with a combined X% share of global production. These countries were followed by Ghana, Burundi, Tanzania, the Philippines, Nigeria, Mali, Benin, Guinea-Bissau, Burkina Faso and Brazil, which together accounted for a further X 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of cashew nut production, amongst the main producing countries, was attained by Mali (+X%), while cashew nut production for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In 2021, the global average yield of cashew nuts shrank modestly to X kg per ha, dropping by -X% against 2020. Over the period under review, the yield, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the yield increased by X% y-o-y. The global yield peaked at X kg per ha in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the yield stood at a somewhat lower figure. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the global exports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, cashew nut exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total exports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the global exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Cote d'Ivoire (X tonnes), distantly followed by Ghana (X tonnes), Tanzania (X tonnes), Benin (X tonnes), Nigeria (X tonnes) and Guinea-Bissau (X tonnes) represented the major exporters of cashew nuts, together mixing up X% of total exports. Burkina Faso (X tonnes), Indonesia (X tonnes), Togo (X tonnes), Guinea (X tonnes) and Senegal (X tonnes) occupied a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Burkina Faso (+X%), while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per tonne in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Tanzania ($X per tonne), while Guinea ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tanzania (+X%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports by Country
Vietnam dominates cashew nut imports structure, accounting for X tonnes, which was near X% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by India (X tonnes), making up a X% share of total imports.
Vietnam was also the fastest-growing in terms of the cashew nuts imports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2012 to 2021. India (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Vietnam (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while India saw its share reduced by -X% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Vietnam ($X) and India ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021.
