Overall, exports, however, recorded a abrupt setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 1,144%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, concrete mixer exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 136% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Maldives (X units), Seychelles (X units) and Uganda (X units) were the main destinations of concrete mixer exports from Sri Lanka, with a combined 96% share of total exports.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 143% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, India (X units) constituted the largest supplier of concrete mixer to Sri Lanka, accounting for a 39% share of total imports. Moreover, concrete mixer imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by China (X units), with a 5.1% share.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 61%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
