Concrete Mixer Market Size in the U.S.

In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the U.S. concrete mixer market, when its value decreased by -6.9% to $X. In general, the total consumption indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, consumption increased by +53.2% against 2018 indices. Concrete mixer consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, concrete mixer production fell to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, the total production indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production increased by +56.7% against 2018 indices. In 2021, overseas shipments of concrete or mortar mixers were finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 1,439%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, concrete mixer exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 54% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Canada (X units), the United Arab Emirates (X units) and New Zealand (X units) were the main destinations of concrete mixer exports from the United States, with a combined 73% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by New Zealand (with a CAGR of +33.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Canada ($X) remains the key foreign market for concrete or mortar mixers exports from the United States, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the UK ($X), with a 7.8% share of total exports. It was followed by New Zealand, with a 6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Canada amounted to -6.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the UK (+6.3% per year) and New Zealand (+38.3% per year).

Imports into the U.S.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of concrete or mortar mixers increased by 7.5% to X units, rising for the third consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, total imports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +38.1% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. China (X units), Mexico (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main suppliers of concrete mixer imports to the United States, with a combined 84% share of total imports. Germany, South Korea, Thailand and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 12%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Thailand (with a CAGR of +63.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 51%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for South Korea ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
