In 2021, Brazil (X units) was the key exporter of concrete or mortar mixers, constituting 68% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Argentina (X units), making up a 23% share of total exports. Colombia (X units), Peru (X units) and Ecuador (X units) held a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to concrete mixer exports from Brazil stood at +10.0%. At the same time, Peru (+29.2%) and Ecuador (+9.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest concrete mixer supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 77% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Argentina ($X), with a 7.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 5.2% share.

In Brazil, concrete mixer exports increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Argentina (-21.6% per year) and Colombia (-10.1% per year).

The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per unit in 2021, surging by 18% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. In 2021, the amount of concrete or mortar mixers imported in MERCOSUR surged to X units, with an increase of 105% on the previous year. Overall, imports showed a prominent expansion. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, concrete mixer imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a slight slump. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Chile was the main importing country with an import of around X units, which accounted for 38% of total imports. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 24% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
