Concrete Mixer Market Size in Iran

In 2021, the Iranian concrete mixer market increased by 4.4% to $X, rising for the fifth year in a row after four years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption, however, showed a noticeable setback. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, concrete mixer production contracted modestly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, the total production indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production increased by +64.9% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 31%. Concrete mixer production peaked at $X in 2020, and then fell slightly in the following year.

Exports from Iran

In 2021, overseas shipments of concrete or mortar mixers decreased by -46.3% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. In general, exports, however, saw prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 234%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, concrete mixer exports shrank rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 271%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Uzbekistan (X units), Iraq (X units) and Armenia (X units) were the main destinations of concrete mixer exports from Iran, with a combined 54% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Armenia (with a CAGR of +146.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for concrete mixer exported from Iran were Uzbekistan ($X), Iraq ($X) and Russia ($X), together comprising 66% of total exports. These countries were followed by Armenia, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Lebanon, Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates, which together accounted for a further 23%.

Armenia, with a CAGR of +89.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average concrete mixer export price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 3.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 13%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Azerbaijan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lebanon (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Iran

Concrete mixer imports into Iran soared to X units in 2021, growing by 47% on the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, showed a dramatic setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 118%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, concrete mixer imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a dramatic shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 76% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest concrete mixer supplier to Iran, with a 57% share of total imports. Moreover, concrete mixer imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X units), fourfold. Lebanon (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at -20.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (0.0% per year) and Lebanon (-10.5% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of concrete or mortar mixers to Iran, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 6.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China amounted to -31.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (0.0% per year) and Italy (-36.1% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average concrete mixer import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, with a decrease of -20.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a pronounced increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 177%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for Lebanon ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
