In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the GCC concrete mixer market, when its value decreased by -41.7% to $X. In general, consumption showed a noticeable reduction. Over the period under review, the market reached the peak level at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

Over the period under review, exports recorded modest growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 231%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, concrete mixer exports plummeted to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 74% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X units) was the main exporter of concrete or mortar mixers, constituting 59% of total exports. Kuwait (X units) held a 20% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Saudi Arabia (14%) and Oman (6.8%).

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to concrete mixer exports from the United Arab Emirates stood at -2.1%. At the same time, Oman (+29.9%), Kuwait (+28.4%) and Saudi Arabia (+3.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. In the United Arab Emirates, concrete mixer exports shrank by an average annual rate of -6.1% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Saudi Arabia (+9.0% per year) and Oman (+24.6% per year).

The export price in GCC stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -56.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a perceptible downturn.
