The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 36%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, glass fibre mat exports reduced sharply to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 31%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Latvia (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by the Czech Republic (X tons). All these countries together took near 44% share of total exports. Romania (X tons), Estonia (X tons), Lithuania (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +2.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest glass fibre mat supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X), Latvia ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), together comprising 80% of total exports. Hungary, Romania, Lithuania and Estonia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 9.5%.

Hungary, with a CAGR of +17.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 49% against the previous year. Export price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, glass fibre mat export price increased by +121.6% against 2018 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while Estonia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, glass fibre mat imports declined sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 53%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then fell markedly in the following year.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -4.9% against the previous year. Import price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, glass fibre mat import price increased by +18.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 17% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then shrank in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
