Imports into Hungary

In 2022, purchases abroad of glass fibre mats decreased by -1.6% to X tons, falling for the fourth year in a row after four years of growth. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 36%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, glass fibre mat imports fell to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell in the following year.

Slovenia (X tons), Romania (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main suppliers of glass fibre mat imports to Hungary, together comprising 69% of total imports.
