Wheat Price in Morocco (CIF) - 2022
In December 2022, the average wheat import price amounted to $379 per ton, declining by -4.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 when the average import price increased by 23% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $522 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to December 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Canada ($509 per ton) and Poland ($382 per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($361 per ton) and Germany ($366 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In November 2022, the average wheat export price amounted to $988 per ton, remaining constant against the previous month. Overall, the export price enjoyed a significant increase. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in November 2022.
