Toy Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average toy import price amounted to $13,216 per ton, falling by -1.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 16% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $16,817 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($29,719 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($8,223 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Toy Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
The average toy export price stood at $14,111 per ton in June 2023, dropping by -6.5% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated modest growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, toy export price increased by +75.9% against January 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 76% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $18,093 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($20,714 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($4,166 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Toy Imports in Poland
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of dolls and toys decreased by -6.3% to 119K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year.
In value terms, toy imports expanded notably to $1.8B in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +62.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 29%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Toy Exports in Poland
For the fourth year in a row, Poland recorded growth in overseas shipments of dolls and toys, which increased by 0.4% to 89K tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.3% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 20%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, toy exports stood at $1.2B in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +60.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 32%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
