Silver Jewelry Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average silver jewelry export price amounted to $912K per ton, declining by -8.1% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 9.3% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $993K per ton in June 2023, and then declined in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1.7M per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($747K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Panama (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average silver jewelry import price stood at $927K per ton in July 2023, with an increase of 8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 25% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1.1M per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Thailand ($1.2M per ton), while the price for China ($753K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Silver Jewelry Exports in Turkey
In 2022, approx. 152 tons of silver jewelry were exported from Turkey; picking up by 5.4% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, total exports indicated a pronounced increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +81.3% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 72%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, silver jewelry exports rose modestly to $143M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +90.7% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 83%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
