Jewelry Imports By Country
Thailand (X tonnes) was the major importer of jewelry in the world, reaching X tonnes, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2016. The U.S. (X tonnes) took the second position in the ranking, followed by the UK (X tonnes), Spain (X tonnes), and the Dominican Republic (X tonnes). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total imports. Italy (X tonnes), India (X tonnes), Nepal (X tonnes), China (X tonnes), and Ireland (X tonnes) occupied the minor share of total imports.
Thailand experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, the U.S. (+X%), Ireland (+X%), Spain (+X%), Italy (+X%), India (+X%), the Dominican Republic (+X%), and Nepal (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the U.S. emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2016. China, and the UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Spain (-X%), and the U.S. (-X%) significantly weakened its position in terms of the global imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the U.S. ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported jewelry worldwide, making up X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the UK ($X), with the share of X% of global imports. It was followed by Italy, with the share of X%.
From 2007 to 2016, the average annual growth rate of value of jewelry imports in the U.S. decreased by -X%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates: the UK (-X% per year) and Italy (+X% per year).
Jewelry Import Prices By Country
The average jewelry import price stood at $X per kg in 2016, falling by -X% against the previous year. Overall, it indicated a strong growth from 2007 to 2016: the import price value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, jewelry import price decreased by -X% against its level of 2014. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010, when import increased by X% year-to-year. Global jewelry import peaked of $X per kg in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.
Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was the U.S. ($X per kg), while Thailand ($X per kg) was among the lowest.
From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of jewelry import prices was attained by Nepal (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
